The municipality renovated the traffic light intersection of Žitná and Štěpánská streets at the border between Prague 1 and 2. Cycling traffic was integrated.

On Žitná Street, an 80-meter long advisory bike lane was marked before the intersection. This facilitates overtaking queues of cars. After the intersection, the city added a bike „piktokoridor“ in the middle of the right lane, which extends about 100 meters along Školská street. It does not connect to the existing piktokoridor and bike lane, which starts a block away before Karlovo náměstí. On Štěpánská street, only a pair of advanced stop lines for cyclists were added.

At the end of last year, the intersection of Žitná and Mezibranská streets, located 300 meters further, was also renovated. Here, additional advanced stop lines for cyclists were added, but there were no additions of piktokoridors or bike lanes.

The new feature will appear in the Městem na kole map shortly.
