We’re looking for new contributors! Join the largest media outlet focused on cycling transport in the Czech Republic

Because we want to keep growing and improving, we’re always on the lookout for new contributors who want to get involved. And we’re not just looking for writers — we welcome enthusiasts of all kinds: content creators, photographers, videographers, graphic designers, discussion moderators, and anyone with an interest in urban cycling. In short: anyone who wants to help move cycling transport forward in the Czech Republic.

Who we are

We’re a community that voluntarily promotes cycling as a means of transport. But we do more than that: we also work on public space issues, engage in expert discussions, communicate with authorities and politicians, and maintain maps and data resources. The editorial team currently consists of Martin, Jirka, Vratislav, and Suzanne, along with other collaborators like Archie, Václav, Zbyněk, and Filip.

What you can do with us

You can get involved in practically anything that interests or excites you:

• Writing articles – from short news updates to longer analyses or interviews
• Photos and videos – event coverage, short clips for social media, documenting new cycle paths
• Gathering info and tips – no need to visit construction sites; sometimes it’s enough just to follow what’s happening and send us leads
• Communication and social media – help us reach more people on Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, Mastodon, YouTube, and TikTok
• Moderating discussions and community engagement – help create a welcoming atmosphere and support event promotion
• Graphic design – help us with illustrations for articles, social media thumbnails, and our overall visual identity
• Fundraising – help us find sponsors and advertisers
• IT and tech development – if you can code, help us improve our map and other tech tools

You can contribute as little or as much as you want — an hour a week, an hour a day, or just occasionally when a topic sparks your interest.

Volunteer work — but with the possibility of compensation

Městem na kole has been built primarily by volunteers, who started it from scratch. If you only contribute occasionally, we treat that as volunteer work. But if you collaborate regularly and long-term, we can eventually agree on financial compensation or other benefits.

In short: we’ll try out the collaboration first, and if it makes sense for both sides, we can take it to the next level.
