Nymburk will build a bike tower at the train station

„In collaboration with the Investment Department, a request for grant funds from the Integrated Regional Operational Programme (IROP) has been submitted. The total costs are expected to be 27 million CZK, with IROP providing up to 85% of eligible expenses. We have applied for the remaining 15% of the grant from the region. Currently, a tender for the contractor is being prepared. The bike tower will have a capacity for 118 bikes. Photovoltaic panels on the roof of the facility will generate energy used for its operation. Charging stations for e-bike batteries will also be included. Payments will be possible through InKarta ČD,“ stated Deputy Mayor Zdeněk Vocásek (ODS).

The bike tower is planned to be located near the main train station building. The construction site is bordered on the south side by Nádražní Street, on the north and west sides by a parking lot for cars and the railway line, and on the east side by the bus station and the ČD station building. The land designated for the construction is currently occupied by an old railway building, which is in very poor technical condition and will be removed. The city now has approval for the demolition, building permits, and a decision on the grant.

Currently, there are only a few simple bike stands in front of the station, and their occupancy is consistently high throughout the year.
