Cyclists will be able to pay in bike towers in Central Bohemia with Lítačka

„Passengers will pay the fees for storing their bikes through the PID Lítačka application. By integrating bike towers into the PID Lítačka system, we will support the use of the application itself and provide benefits to holders of selected assortments of PID time-based subscription tickets who use bicycles for commuting to work, schools, and workplaces and store them in the bike towers,“ said regional councilor for public transport Petr Borecký (STAN).

With the application, it will be possible to park for five crowns per day. „If holders have specific PID time-based subscription tickets, they will park for free. The region will cover the costs of storing the bike. Passengers will have free storage for one day with a purchased pass in the zone where the bike tower is located and if they also have a coupon with a duration of a quarter of a year or more,“ added Borecký.

From autumn, it will be possible to pay for bike parking in three ways: directly at the tower terminal, through the České dráhy InKarta, and with Lítačka. The integration of bike towers into the system, including the necessary adjustments by the regional government, will cost nearly three million Czech crowns.

A bike tower is a self-service storage system for bikes, which allows bikes to be stored in a safe and dry environment, without access by other individuals. The entire system is monitored by a camera system. Bike towers, which are open around the clock, are located in Lysá nad Labem (two towers), Milovice, Beroun, Poděbrady, Čelákovice, and Kolín.
