On Sunday afternoon, the World Bike Ride passed through the capital city. The event was organized by the AutoMat association (MNK is an independent project of the association, editor’s note) on the occasion of World Bicycle Day.
The event aimed to highlight the importance of supporting bicycle transportation. The bike ride was followed by an accompanying program on Štvanice Island. This included music, a children’s program, a Bike Kitchen workshop on bike repair, a presentation of current cycling research by the AutoMat association, and a discussion about the future of the Prague Magistral highway.
The event was sponsored by Prague’s Deputy Mayor for Transport, Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates), and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Representatives from other embassies also participated.
